georg is like a late 2011-early 2013 tumblr meme, it’s like Skull Trumpet or Scalene Triangle in the way it has a million derivatives and everyone is posting about it, I’m just holding out for some popular text post blogger to insult it so everyone will be cowed into dropping it but I am worried we no longer have the same hierarchy in place, we no longer have a regulatory system equipped to cope with these memes

our hierarchy system has definitely been demolished as ‘popular blogger’ (i.e. ‘tumblr famous’) is something of the past since there are too many tumblr communities within tumblr for any bloggers to truly lead us all and control our meme tastes

i will say, i’m insulted that spiders georg would be compared to skull trumpet or something as juvenile and simple as scalene triangle

spiders georg incorporates a real story line available as an alt mad libs with indefinite possibilities, skull trumpet’s effect depended on pure imagery and gif reactions have gone way down since 2011 and scalene triangle is a response that cannot be used so randomly or be built off from so easily as just making “ah the scalene triangle” reference something else would turn it into “ah the ____” which takes too much of the (already short) quote away for it to clearly be understood

spiders georg is gold status bc of the ability for ppl that have never read the original meme to still be able to enjoy it’s formula for what it is and this is proof that memes are becoming more intricate, built stronger to last longer

the chosen few possible to lead us in meme trends are even fewer with this advancement, even if the hierarchy was still intact the rate at which memes are evolving cannot be stopped
